Anotace: This paper offers a review of some Christian authors who used Virgil as a pagan model with the purpose of portraying Christ’s life as a classical hero. Our working hypothesis is that Juvencus and Proba made the allusions and references to Aeneas’ heroic qualities to announce the victorious new archetype of Christ as the only example of virtue. This process defined as ‘Virgilisation of Christ’s life’ was fundamental for Prudentius’ poetic task.
