Anotace:
White cast irons are widely used in many
applications, where functional sur faces of
machine par ts and tools interact with hard
par ticles. Their high abrasion and erosive
resistance is achieved when the microstructure
contains a great por tion of fine hard carbides
uniformly dispersed in tough metallic matrix.
Current research activities are concentrated
on achieving the higher wear resistance and
fracture toughness of the high chromium
white cast irons by modification of their
chemical composition, conditions of
solidification and heat treatment.
