Anotace:
The German writer Manfred Böckl deals with a variety of themes in his work, which
he chooses mainly from Bavarian, but also European, especially Celtic history. This
article presents the life and work of this Bavarian author. It will explain the reasons
why Manfred Böckl also chooses themes from both sides of the Bavarian-Czech
border for his novels and the time period in which they are set. It will also take into
account the contemporary context in which these novels were written, focusing
in particular on the novel „Šumava. Die Saga des Böhmerwaldes“
