Anotace:
The article deals with current trends in the field of gender-neutral language in France, as reflected
in a number of legislative regulations, formation of several government committees which were
supposed to resolve the question to what extent and how apply the rules preventing discrimination
of women in language, as well as publication of a new textbook using some of these rules.
Instead of defending gender-neutral langue, the article sums up several relevant events which
took place in France from the end of the 20th century up to now.
