Moisture control is a major task during
quality control of the unit moulding mixtures.
There are three basic rules: a casting has
the better sur face, the less water was
necessar y for the production of the high-
-quality mould; the higher is the compactibility
of the moulding mixture, the higher toughness
of the mould; as much water need to be
added into the moulding mixture so it will
be optimally moistened. Optimal moistening
depends mainly on the moulding method,
on the composition of the moulding mixture
and on the quality of mixing.
