Anotace: The author emphasizes that critical thinking is a key competence not only during one’s elementary, secondary and academic studies, but also in one’s professional activities and personal life. The paper gives a general overview of a Hungarian pilot programme designed in 2011 aiming to promote students’ basic and advanced critical thinking skills, and briefly introduces the findings of the pilot test with the participation of LIS students in Pécs.
