Anotace:
The aim of this article is to analyze the Anglicism “blog” in the Czech and French languages and
show to what degree the term has been adapted in both languages. The purpose of the theoretical
framework is to clarify the concept of adaptation. Adaptation of loanwords is a complex
process that develops at various language levels and depends on several factors. The main
result of the analysis is a list of derived and compound words from the word blog in Czech and
French, generated from two Aranea corpora (Araneum Bohemicum III Maximum and Araneum
Francogalicum II Maximum).
