Society for Moulding Sands begun to record
thoroughly the laborator y tests of moulding
sands carried out in foundries. The first
monitored test concerned the elutriatable
substances. The ar ticle presents summary
of 72 monitored test results of 2 kinds of
sands, it analyzes all currently used methods
of determination, points out the most frequent
mistakes made during the tests. It also deals
with the influence of rev frequency of the
stirrer on test results.
